RomesBlog Downtime 12-21-2011

Hello all,

Again, RomesBlog has had downtime.  The downtime lasted roughly 10-15 minutes so it wasn’t too bad and was not the fault of our host.  The software that backs up hosting accounts released a update to their software which caused the downtime.  From my host:

“This was an unexpected outage caused by the backup system that we use on the server. The developers (r1soft) made an update and unlike other scripts that allow us to update on our own time schedule, their system automatically updates as soon as they release a patch.

The problem was caused due to an incompatibility with the kernels on the system (the part that drives the server itself). We took the machine offline for a couple of minutes to resolve this and bring everyone back online and operational.”

Hope you all understand and forgive us!
