Ugh… hello dear readers, unfortunately today I bring bad news for those who, like myself, enjoy playing games on their Xbox 360… you poor misguided fools, didn’t you know that to Microsoft, making money and beating Sony and Wii means more than keeping its fans??? Ah well, guess it’s up to the Rabid Gamer to set you straight.

You might remember my two other articles, worrying about consoles spreading themselves too thin, and the fallout of bad decisions… well it looks like they’ve taken it as a personal challenge to make sure their console is known more for “entertaining” than gaming.

According to pcworld.com, instead of developing new games, it wants to concentrate on apps (in case you were ever thinking of buying an iPhone/iPad) that stream tv shows to you…. yeah that worked SO WELL with UFC… Hopefully they’ve learned their lesson there, but i highly doubt it.

I guess I can see their point, since it might mean people will subscribe to their channels and their packages, especially considering there are more expensive products out there… good luck with keeping it from being hacked though… and don’t bother talking to Microsoft, they don’t do much about it even if you do get through (see last article for details).

What else are they coming out with? Ah yes… Kinect for Windows… At $100 extra, why would the customers even bother with it? Oh… THAT’S RIGHT!! This isn’t even for regular customers, it’s mostly for developers… how silly of us to think that something released by a GAMING company isn’t for it’s own customers…

What’s worse than that? They’re not even attempting to get the new hardware made for Xbox 720… despite all the rumours. Yup, according to pcworld.com there are no plans in the near future to make decent hardware upgrades… after all, the games play better and look better on PCs… which is what Microsoft is trying to sell even more of. And, even with the graphics being bad, it doesn’t stop the games from selling like crazy.

So, there you have it. Laziness + Greed = “fantastic” year for hardcore gaming fans like myself, and probably, as much as I hate to admit it, more dough for micro$oft. Enjoy your day boys and girls. Until next time.
