How To Minimize Your House Expenses

0Shares

The dream that everyone has or pretty much everyone, is to own your own home. However, owning a home comes with many expenses. These expenses can add up if you are not properly maintaining your home. Doing your due diligence each year and every month will save you thousands of dollars over the life of the home.

An example of good maintenance would be if you live in an area that has septic tanks. If you are familiar with these then you know they are $5,000 to $15,000 to fix if it breaks. If you do not know what these are, this is where all the wastewater goes from a house. Some houses are not hooked up to the city lines so all our waste goes into these tanks and overtime will seep into the ground while the biological waste is dissolved by bacteria. For this example, you should get your septic tank pumped once every year. This usually cost around $200 and it will keep your tank healthy and in good working condition.

I created a PDF that will help you remember important things to fix around the house. I will include it below and it is free to use.  You can always add to the lists if you see things around your house you need or want to maintain but this list is a good starting point.

I hope this helped you out and thanks for reading and visiting the site!
